Anything that can be loosely classified as rock, from the 50s to the present. Its mostly anything that sounds right, doesn't really matter who it is. There was a period when the new stuff didn't interest us, but there is alot of new that is more and more like the right stuff.

I'm still into that 70's and 80's rock too. Although I plug in a Willie CD sometimes and crank up "Whiskey River". I'm taking my kids to the Green Day show in Denver next week. They want me to spike my hair for the show.

I love music... well... most music, can't really take opera, and not very open to rap and am very glad most of us lived thru disco . But what I really like to listen to is the unsung heros that are really accomplished but aren't on the top 40 radio crap...

Im into Classic rock and country. stuff like AC/DC, Poison, Motley Crue, CCR, John Mellencamp, Bob Seger, Van Halen ( David lee Roth), and the country i like is stuff like Garth Brooks, Steve Earle, T-bird, Toby Keith, Kenny Chesney, David Alan Coe, Jonny Cash, Willie, Waylon, and Tim Mcgraw.

I really enjoy a well crafted song featuring a timeless message; I guess recent examples would be stuff like David Lee Murphy's 'The road you leave behind you' and Randy Travis ' Three wooden crosses'. Some mid eighties rock and country up to the mid nineties. And like Joe said, there's nothing like the old standards from the 40's to the 60's to take you back to a simpler time and place. Of course the oldies stuff never hurts setting the mood to work on our treasures as Barry said.

I can take nearly anything, in my CD collection you can find Iron Maiden, Telarc Digital 1812 overture, Jimmy Buffet, Faith Hill, Charlie Daniels, Poe, Bob Marley...

So nearly anything, left to my own devices lately I will either listen to Country or Alternative.

The way I see it there are 3 options. Classic country,rock country, 80s-90s country. I can't stand most new country (execpt the ones that have been around 5 plus years. Rap+C=CRap

Megadeath, Pantera, Pre Load Metallica, some new hard rock. Love 90's Seattle Grunge. Alice in Chains, Soundgarten, Nirvana. Can't stand pearljam for some reason.

Older 70's stuff. Deep Purple, Black Sabbath, Van Halen (not Van Hagar).

Country if it's low in the backgorund it it isn't noticible.

I like to rock. But also like some blues, fusion,
etc...I molest a geetar myself. Lately been trying to
build up some decent gear for a change. I bought
an old fender super reverb about 2 months ago.
It's a killer blues machine...4x10 combo, and it's a
silverface that has had the circuit "blackfaced".
If you have heard SRV, you know what it sounds
like. He used usually two super reverbs, and two
vibroverbs..But he had some others also...
The super reverb is for my "clean" channel.
I'm looking for a marshall, etc, for my "dirty"
channel. I plan to eventually run two amps,
with a/b switching. Ala Eric Johnson, etc..
I've got a few practice clips on my briefcase, if
you wanna hear me molest a geetar.. Some
are "jam-along" clips with regular music, and
some are just short demos, etc... IE: layless
is a lesson I made to show a guy how to play
"layla"... Don't expect anything earthshaking...
But I can fake the Van Halen, Satch, thing halfway
decent...

Probably the newer dated ones are better audio..
I played all those running through the puter...
So my geetar sound is not the greatest..
I can't hardly play the amps here at the house..
Too loud... Just the super reverb can probably
be heard 5 houses down, if I crank it loud nuff to
get some tube overdrive.. And those 4 tens move
the air...I can just plunk harmonics, and the sound
will punch you in the gut if you are in front of the
amp. BTW, all those are just practice clips I make
to share with other geetar players I know. It's not
like I was trying to get the perfect recordings.. :/
As one example, joenme.mp3 was made after only
one day of learning that song...I can play it better
now...

Im a big death metal fan. Not the mainstream type like metallica, but the underground ones, that nobody has ever heard of. My favorite band (Opeth) is death metal, but different, they play a lot a melodic acoustic stuff, clean electric. This stuff is real talent. I also play the guitar, so maybe thats why I think about these bands the way I do.

I also enjoy classical, classical metal, jazz, blues, and old classic rock.

I hate rap, and all the bands that are on MTV. They are so fake and have no talent.
