Did it extend all the way back to the gas tank?

I never did get around to getting the carpet ordered. Something else came up that I needed more. :( But it'll be happening soon.

It fit really good!! We had to do some trimming in some spots. It had pre cut holes for like the dimmer. Frist thing is get the dimmer in the hole of the carpet frsit. That way ever else will line up. Lay you carpet out flat in the sun. It makes it a lot better to handle. When you get the carpet in there will be some lumps but they will flaten out after a wile.

Yes the carpet went all the way behind the gas tank

We was not thinking but we put the tank in frist and the lines and then when we went to put the carpet in the body man and his wife just looked at me and said well *^&* lol So we just cut it where it went under the gas tank a little

Best way to put the carpet in is when your ready to paint and have ever thing out of the truck. That way you wont need to what I did.

I got the loop pile carpet And the foil stuff to lay down frist.

The price for the carpet was 134$

This is the photo of the carpet http://i205.photobucket.com/albums/bb31 ... ure061.jpg

Sorry its not that good of a photo. I still did not have the door plates in but this gives you an idea. Ill get a better photo this week

from the pic, it doesnt look like the carpet fits snug against the kick panels. is this an allusion, did you cut it, or did it come like that?

is that firewall cover also from NPD?
thanks :D

On the drivers side it did fit all the way on the kick panels other it did not but it was only 3\8th off So that not a big deal at all. + its all where you cut it at!!!! Thats the trick

Yes the firewall cover is from NPD. To put that in you need to pull the column. And you will need to do some triming! That was a hard thing to put in!! But get the carpet in frist as I found out!!

I know it looks funny at the edge but when you get the door seal on and the door plates it makes up for it.

Im going to restore the steering wheel and stuff so that wont look like it does now!! lol

Well, I finally got the floor pans finished and the cab leak sealed so I bought some carpet. I got it from NPD. It's manufactured by ACC which by most accounts on the old car forums is the best out there. I'm disappointed though. :( The fit is not very good. Like has been mentioned in this and other posts, it does not extend all the way to the sides of the kick panels. I called NPD and specifically asked them if it would fit all the way to the edges and was assured that it would. :o
It's not a matter of cutting too much off either. I didn't trim anything and the edges are finished with a binding. It's close to an inch short of touching the kick panels on both sides. I guess I'm going to try and make some carpeted kick panel covers to help with noise reduction and also close the gap and make it less noticeable.
It's getting old dealing with these restoration companies that continue to sell products and parts that are poor quality or don't fit. :x

Here is a picture of the carpet you get from NPD. My original carpet ended right at the gas tank (that is, the entire floor is covered). The repro carpet extends further back and so would actually turn up and go vertically up your gas tank several inches. I cut it off for my install.

I had the same experience with it being just slightly short of the kick panels width wise. My guess is that as the jute gets compressed it will fit better over the years. We'll see.
