Obviously I'd have to have someone else do the testing and charging but other than that I don't foresee anything I can't handle. Do you have to completely remove the dash in order to do the install. Do you lose the fresh air vents or do they work around them. I have to replace the heater core in my bump anyway and I'm thinking this would be a good upgrade.

Thanks

Hey Kris. I didn't do my install, but I watched! Does that count? Think the hardest part was routing the hoses thru the inner fender. Did not require removal of the dash - glove box only but my mechanic said it was a mighty tight fit getting the flex lines for the air supply stuffed in the dash. You do lose the fresh air vent on the passenger side - Classic provides a plate to seal off the opening where the hoses go thru. Nice looking install and seems to work great - but we haven't had any of those 95 degree days yet. We'll see. Be happy to send you any photos you may want to see.

Well I have been slowly getting some progress done on the ac, kinda slow but thats from being at work all the time.
I got all the old out, this was easy since I rebuilt the truck so I know where all the bolts and such are at. Getting the holes cut was not that bad, but getting the evaporater mounted under the dash was a pain. I have had some problems with small parts missing, so far the company has been helpfull with getting them to me, however now I have to call them again with some problems.
On a side note, if you buy this kit, or already have the kit you may want to check the block off plate on the passenger kick panel, mine has a nice gap from there only being screws in the top and bottom, none in the middle like original. Since the holes are in kick panel already, I am going to drill out the block off plate for the original bolt pattern

That is nice both the A/C and the radio also which I am looking for. Seems like classic air is the way to go. Any try the nostalgia system?

I've been thinking of adding A/C too. I hate to mess up the stock look but it is just too darn hot to drive in the summertime!

phil105 - that's a great looking truck and nice a/c install - thanks for sharing!

Could you maybe post a picture of the brackets used to mount the compressor?? If you had the old "hang-on" type first, I'm assuming you had the York compressor, and maybe you just used the adapter bracket from Classic Auto that mounts the Sanden compressor to the York bracket, correct?? Do you know if that's a Sanden 508 compressor?

Also, do the center louvers look a little "lopsided"? The picture makes them look like they're not exacted parallel with the bottom line of the dash. Is that just the picture?

I'm really considering this system, and I hope you don't mind the barrage of questions.. :)

..The wife said if I want her to ride with me in the old truck, it'd better have a/c.
