Wanting to keep in touch with my daughter (being divorced is a B---h!) I thought a hand-held CB for each of us would be a good idea. It was fun way to BS and catch-up on her day - till I realized how the CB channels went down hill in the 20 years I'd been off the airwaves.
Apparently the CB airwaves are unmonitored by the FCC so they've degenerated into a potty mouthed sewer here in W. PA. Turns out that the local kids who couldn't afford cell phones so they use it as a private way to curse at each other. Retruned the CBs to the store and got my money back.

hey i have a shortwave radio! that things cool. i use to be able to hear the radio for the troops in some other country on it but its been a while sense i've used it.
