anyone thought of using two layers of the "peel n seal" ? and when you did this, did any of you remove the tranny hump cover and do it separate?

I'm sure 2 layers of PnS would be double the soundproofing. I don't see that it would cause any issues. When I installed mine I just laid it right over the hump and then cut around the edge so I could remove the hump when I wanted to. Did the same thing with my EZ Cool insulation.

Just did my cab with Peal and Seal then the tight air bubble insulation and the carpet seems to do the job nicely. Haven't road tested yet but took away the tin can noise. :2cents: Threw some into the door cavity too.

Now does the carpet go under the firewall cover or over it??

How's the tar stuff long term? What if it rusts underneath? I would imagine welding near the tar is out. Can you take it out if need be?

I would assume that the floor is clean and rust free before one would apply it or adhesion maybe a problem. It will peel up but it is a task and that's only after a week in my case, once heat gets to it maybe tougher to get off. In both case where I have used it the under floor area has be under coated/ gravel guarded so rust would be way down the road...hopefully! The cost is so cheap which makes it a throw away if need be at $56 CDN. :D
