Cool. I just thought you might have a hidden booster or something. It really does keep the firewall uncluttered. I never had a problem stopping mine with just manual brakes either. She looks great!

found this on the cyl.http://www.partsgeek.com/mmparts/master ... anger.html
would the stock pushrod not work? what are the sizes for the adapters from the master cyl. to the braided lines? the build looks great good job..!

Jeffrey,

I bought the master cylinder on Ebay and it came from Great Lake Auto Parts and the part # was 13-2374. I got the adapter fittings from Speedway Motors; 9/16-18 to AN3 part # 910-318-9/16 for $6.99 and 7/16-24 to AN3 part # 617-4131 $6.99 for a pair. The stock push-rod on my '67 worked. The push-rods on '68 and up trucks are different so I can't say for sure if they'll work or not. I was going to make my stock one adjustable if it didn't work.

ordered the cyl from my local carquest they had a re-man without the plastic cup and a new one with cup both in the 130.00 dollar rang with a core. the link i put up for parts geek has them for 23.00 dollars shipped. i dont normally order from places like this and was wondreing if there is usually this big of a seperation in price? the re-man also came with the push rod.. did yours come with the rod? the pic on parts geek shows no rod still trying to contact them to ask. i will look for one on e-bay here when i get a chance. thanks for the info.

I discovered that a Lincoln Mark VIII fan will not fit with a 429/460. The fan is 6" thick and I don't have that much room between the core and the water pump. Back to the drawing board to find an electric fan that fits. Santa knows what to bring me now! :D I guess the Mark VIII fan will find a home in my Mach 1. It's next in line to be "restored" when my Bump is finished.

Installing the '69 aluminum grille and lights. I went with halogen headlights and clear parking/turn-signal lens that use an amber bulb.

I used a sealed bearing from Tractor Supply in the end of my steering column. It only goes halfway in, however it ain't coming out! I had to clearance the end of the steering column with a cartridge porting roll and then tap it in with a hammer. I used a .750" ID collar with a set screw to hold the shaft in the right position. The column is out of a '69 parts truck that I picked up. It had a 4-speed and is a much cleaner setup than the three on the tree column that was in it. I used my original '67 steering shaft.

I also worked on the hood hinges to get rid of 46 years of crud. It's amazing what glass beads will do in a blast cabinet to make them ready for paint.
