Cindy, you might be right about the Class C classification. I'm not really sure to be honest but I'm not sure what it would be classified as otherwise, but regardless, it's cool to look at!LuvMyScamper wrote:What a cool looking rig. To be classified as a Class C though, doesn't there have to be a pass-through to the cab? The truck you just posted has a bench seat, which leads me to believe there was no pass-through/cutaway to the cab. I'm not 100% sure though.

Re: F250 and F350 with campers
I was over at FordFE.com today and came across a thread about a 1963 Galaxy Station Wagon with a slide in camper. Intrigued, I started looking at all of vehicles that had trailers attached or some type of Camper attached.
I was amazed that in my 61 years of life, I hadn't seen most of these types of campers or trailers. See...you DO learn something new every day!

Re: F250 and F350 with campers
Hey Bryan. That is a sweet looking rig. The truck looks to be in excellent shape. I am familiar with the Caveman camper but that is one of the earliest one's that I have ever seen! I am mostly familiar with the Caveman's from the mid to later 70's. Sweet and thanks for the pic!benden wrote:Here is a pic of my 70 F250 camper special with a 1966 Caveman camper.

Re: F250 and F350 with campers
Larry, it is interesting to see the crazy camper rigs and set-ups from the 60's and 70's. They used to build a 5th wheel/gooseneck hitch set-up that you could bolt onto the top of your car and pull a small 5th wheel trailer. I recall seeing a commercial with one attached to the top of a VW Bug as well as to the trunk of a Cadillac from the 70's. I was always curious to how they would have handled?forrestbump wrote:I was over at FordFE.com today and came across a thread about a 1963 Galaxy Station Wagon with a slide in camper. I know, I just find it amusing. can you imagine being a r.v dealer and trying to sell one of these? Honestly at that point you should just get a 5th wheel or a bumper pull. who would want to take that thing camping then have to drive to the store for something?? Definatley neat to look at and amusing but not my cup of soup. thats just me though.

Re: F250 and F350 with campers
Hello, I was looking for some advice, maybe someone here can help me. I want to get a camper to put on my pickup, and I'm not sure if it is too big for it. I've never had a camper on it before but I think the previous owner did. My truck is a 1971 F-250 4x4 with a 360 (with headers and 4bbl edelbrock), and the camper is a 12 foot cabover with EZ loader.
I looked at the door plate and it says it is F260 and Max weight is 6800 pounds. I found out that my truck weighs 4400 pounds, but I can't seem to find the weight of the camper anywhere online or on the camper... The manufacturer is Mitchell and is out of business. Does anyone else have a 12' camper that they haul with a similar truck? I am concerned particularly because I will be driving in the mountains up and down hills and I will be towing a 2-horse trailer. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
Also, on a side note, I have the highway or running lights on the roof of the cab of my truck... Will a cabover camper hit them? Just wondering..
Thanks!
