Finally got my cab off the frame with some help of a couple freinds. Spent about 3 hours wire brushing before i had to quit. Hopefully this project is going to pick up the pace now. Planning on putting por-15 on the entire bottom of the cab. Have a few spots to repair including 1 cab mount but nothing major.

Thanks for the console tip Randy. I did find one that's a "shorty" as the overdrive is floor shifted and a full length one would not work. The bonus is that the red looks right at home in my floor shifted Galaxie as well, so double duty there. Once I get the seat back in I'm gonna post another photo, the bench cover is due by fed x today. I had to have them remake that section, they put giant holes in the first one for seat belt pass throughs, at least 5 times the size of the slots in the original .

Well, winter's over, here's the breakdown including foolishly spent dollars (though not too bad if I may say so).
Overdrive transmission from a late 70's Ford- Sitting on garage floor.
Pressure plate- Same place, just need some 80 grit and circular hand sanding.
Throw out bearing- yup, sourced off my shelf (re-greased).
Resurface flywheel- $54.00
New clutch disc- $61.00
Shorten driveshaft by 7 inches, new u-joints- $110.00
'93 F150 standard cab bench- $100
Seat covers- $114.00
Console- $109.00
Total cost, ready for spring and a trip to Detriot with my son in August to cruise Woodward at the dream cruise (thanks to the overdrive):
$548.00 Worth a mortgage payment in my book

Installed my Addco front sway bar - 1 hour job turned into 4 days because for some reason I had to make modifications to the way it mounted because the kit that was for my truck sure wasn't going to work the way the instructions said...... .......had to get longer bolts and make new spacers for the bushing setup because if I did it as they said every time the suspension moved the bolts would have hit something on the frame because they were tilted backwards - and then I had to fab a 1 inch spacer for the passenger side I beam mount because the bushings were right up against the rubber stopper for the i beam. Don't know if maybe something is tweaked in my front end of what but next time I'll just go to the junkyard and get what I need off another Ford truck so I know I won't have issues.........

Hello all! Just found the forum! Yesterday I put all new plugs, wires and distributor cap/rotor. Tomorrow will be all new coolant hoses and flush and refill

Thinking of the warmer weather on its way.
Get the new bedboards installed, they’ll need a few more coats of polyurethane-
Get the new seat upholstery installed, find a small chunk of foam, lay the cover in the hot sun for a bit-
Keep this old inline-six running, probably 390,000 miles on it - they just keep on going dont they.
Picked up this topper that fits the Flareside box perfectly. Want to install one small side window on it for visability through to the right/rear side of truck

enjoy seeing what folks are up to...had to cut out trans hump and put in a high rise trans cover. converted to floor shift. made a little wider to fill the hole.

Not exactly what i did but what im going to do. After finishing the por 15 on the cab desided that i wasnt going to reuse my factory AC becuse its just too bulky. I ordered the vintage air setup. Im going to have to weld up the holes in the firewall that were for the factory air.

Added a set of gauges today. Water temp, oil pressure, and voltage. No more guessing or worry.

Drove it for the first time this year...... ......and had to play parking lot mechanic when it quit running after I limped it into our local Menards......... ..........was starving for fuel for some reason......never did that before and EVERYTHING in the fuel system was cleaned and/or replaced 3 years ago..........

Finished the restoration of my oil bath air cleaner......special thanks to our local screen printer for the outstanding reproduction of the impossible to find decal for these!........I have 5 extras if anyone else needs one......

I adjusted my points retimed the truck and did some small adjustments to the carburetor. It has been 3000 miles. The points are supposed to be .017 and they measured to be .011 before the adjustment. That little bit must make a difference because it purrs like a tom cat in a creamery now.
