I would have never thought hub caps would be called a upgade but today
I purchased 5 of these (see attached) and WOW what a difference. I will need to punch the centers out of two of them for the front but very pleased with my purchase of 5 caps for $25.00 today.
I also scored a box of emblems (mostly 73-79), a very good L.H. hood marker F250, and a glove box door with the explorer badge and a full set of 80's 3/4 Ford hub caps. I love SWAP MEET season.

I agree with you in some ways, but I've got to say... there's nothing wrong in my book with upgrading to power disc brakes, power steering, polyurethane suspension bushings, dual exhaust, etc... Some things just seem necessary and make driving the truck MUCH more enjoyable and make it worth more money. :2cents: .

power steering
disc brakes
lockers (front & rear)
14 bolt rear (13x3 and a half inch brakes)
Q-jet Carb
HP 60
On board air
inside cage
2 winches
The only piece in drivetrain I have not broken or replaced is the Dana 24 T/C.
Wheel well headers and flowmasters
To me every one of these mods has made it a better truck.

ptodave what do you know about putting qjets on ford engines. I was thinking about it for my I6 300 and looking for a specific qjet recommendation.

Not to much,a friend gave me the one I have. Bought an adapter and put it on and it works great. I think they make different cfm models, Have no idea which one I have. Like it a LOT better than the holley I had.

Ok thanks, I guess I would just look for one from a motor with a similar displacement as my 300. Thats about the extent of my idea so far.

Power disk brakes.

302 2v. to 390 4v.

Eliminating some body seams.

In process of taking out the in cab tank and upgrading to the in frame tank off of a 68' F250 CS. Did not like the fuel cap sticking out of the side of the bed, so I am installing a fuel door. I found one off of a 88' Honda Prelude. I cut the quater panel around the fuel door so I can weld it as a unit to the truck. It has the perfect conture of the upper bed side. I also grabbed the fuel door release handle and cable. I will install that in the cab. I am pretty excited about this mod. I will photograph the work.

Best mod was having the gaping hole in the intake welded up. Runs like a top now!!! Oh yeah, new master cylinder. Stopping is a good thing.
