OK, this evening after work I polished up some parts to mail out and did a sun visor clip as well. The thing looks pretty flipp'n sharp polished. I'm happy with how it turned out.

These are going to sell for $30 each when they are in production. The Dome Lamp Bezels are going up to $35 and the Ash Tray Pulls are going up to $20.

My only request is make sure your current sun visor clip is drilled straight or at least be willing to live with it crooked if it isn't... I'm going to consider these limited production / prototype parts. I need feedback on fit and some good pictures so these will go for $25.

All prices are mailed out. I have eight visors and a dozen or so more that need machined so please email before sending money so payments don't get thrown in the woodstove as junk mail (yes it happened)...

Thanks,
Jamie

Been thinking about the crooked holes last night and I think I'm going to do one more program to mill slots for the mounting screws. I can't do it in the beginning because it'll screw up the alignment side to side. It's a pretty simple setup and cut and will make them fit much better.

I'll probably just kick them over to the for sale thread that's already going once this one settles down. I have two test orders paid for and have been dragging my feet on getting the programs done (or at least it seems that way when I can't get to the puter for all the other drama)...

Good time for an update. Spent a good bit of time today on the puter designing a new fixture to do the slots and also hold the parts for the reversed curve on the base. Now I just need to make the fixture and program in the depth settings to get things cutting correctly. I can't believe how busy this year is already and how little time I have to play with things...

Like I said above, the boss flipped me to the other end of the week to train the new guys and still wants me to help out on my regular shift. The OT is nice, but I have to much to do at home to be babysitting at work...

jamie, it's better to be busy than un-employed, at least that's what we say around here. lol

Yeah, got told Wednesday that OT is done for a little while, happens every spring. So now I'm trying to get the backlog of projects updated. I had a '83 Kaw jet ski given to me and yeserday it came apart. Gonna build a dory for my dad and make it the powerplant. The ranchero ate it's alternator coming home from work Tuesday so I upgraded to an integral alternator on it, then noticed the upper to lower intake gasket had blown out. Spent half the day getting that thing drivable again.

I have my friend Tow truck out back still. The 7.3 has a leaking injector O ring (blew fuel all over the botton of the fairlane coming home). The windshield wiper crapped out too. I have a international 656 out back that need the front end spindle bushings replaced and someone welded the arms to the splindles.

The fairlane runs now so I just need to add tranny fluid to get it put away.

I have a round bale holder half made in the garage that need finished too.

Tonight the mill will be running and I will be makig the fixture and getting further on this project.

Busy is an understatement...

Maybe I'm retarded, but why are you mounting the brackets upside down in the truck? The visors should rest on the lip shouldn't they?

Heh... good point. I hadn't caught that one, myself.

I'm still anxious to get my paws on a couple of these. My poor old truck is feeling a little naked.

actually he is mounting them the right way :D
kinda weird because you would think the lip would be to let the visor rest on. but if you flip it over and try to mount it, it wont work because it wont match the curve in the sheet metal.

Ryan, actually the curve doesn't line up... It's a '68 mutang part and it just looks like it belongs on our trucks... The '68 ranchero and all the dentside truck visor clips don't have the curve at all.

I'm still trying desperately to get the mill fired up, got volunteered to work OT tomorrow putting a roll stand back together and the company is shedding workers this week. Very stressful time. I did have it fired up last Friday, but didn't get much accomplished. I need a vacation.
