Re: 1967 F-100 project
Oh, no problem Tyler, and thanks! I know it was tough to see that in the other pics. The other mount is in pretty good shape, but with that rust underneath, I'm glad I'm doing them. I'll have to do some hammer/dolly work on the floor, then fill some hole with the welder before I can weld the mounts on.

Re: 1967 F-100 project
For those of you planning on removing your front mounts, here is a tip to make it easier. The top spot welds, under the lip on the firewall, can be tough to get to. To make access easier, I used a cut off wheel, and made a cut across the front mount after drilling out the spot welds on the bottom and sides. Now, you can go at them straight with the drill, with the rest of the mount out of the way.

It wasn't too bad, the spot weld cutter I had made it easy.

Re: 1967 F-100 project
Well, this is a little irritating. I ordered these cab mounts from NPD. See any difference?? Yeah, they are huge in comparison. And from their catalog, these are the only ones for the 67-72, but they don't come close to fitting. So, I'm going to call them here shortly. May have to suck it up, and order the ones from Dennis Carpenter. Bad thing, those are 60 bucks more a piece, but they look just like the originals in their pictures.

Re: 1967 F-100 project
Just found it. From the NPD virtual catalog:
Stamped Mount:
Page 195, Part # F-011135-18/19, Price $36.95 each
Dennis Carpenter Mount:
Page 199, Part # F-011270-1/2, Price $84.95 each
Check your invoice - did they send you the correct part number??
*** Now that I look again, that's the same price DC sells them for. So maybe I only bought them from NPD because I got free shipping because my order was over $300.
Anyway, hope that helps.

Yep, same part #'s. Have you installed those yet? They look almost like something that would go over the original mounts that were left in place. I talked to them on the phone, and they said that's the only ones they carry. I'm going to send them back. I've orderd the DC ones, had to get the inspection plate cover also.

They sell both. Again, I ordered the mounts made by Dennis Carpenter from NPD. And yes, I just finished installing them, check out my build thread below. Page 5/6.

After talking to a couple other guys, I think I'm going to try some rust converter inside of my rocker channels. It's not real bad, but enough that it needs cleaned up, and I can't figure out a good way to clean it out of there. I'll Probably POR-15 inside of them to protect them.

Re: 1967 F-100 project
I've been trying to figure out a way to make an extension for my 3/8 spot weld bit. They make 1/4 extension, but not 3/8. So, after discussing my issue with the machinists here at the plant, they suggest bringing the bit in, and they will turn the end down, to 1/4", so it will fit in an extension. Problem solved!

Re: 1967 F-100 project
Well, I've got some fitment issues with the DC cab mounts. From the look of the right mount, it wasn't pushed all the way together before it was welded, and it leave a pretty good gap between it and the firewall. In the first pic, you can see the gap inside the mount, and what it causes in the 2nd and 3rd pics.

Re: 1967 F-100 project
On the left side, the gap isn''t quite as large, but it still doesn't fit well. I've contacted DC, and they are going to have me return them, so they can check these out. They think they may not have been in the jig all the way when they were welded. And, the left side mount seems to be too short, it will not reach up the lip on the firewall.

Dan, thanks for the comments! I'm going to have to fab up those cab corner panels myself, I'll make sure to post plenty of pics!
