Got the bed set on. Got the title from the previous owner. I guess it's official!

Too it or with it? lol I was helping my sister's son in law cut some fire wood. It was dumped off with a tiltbed. It was a mess and I got tired of climbing around in it with a chainsaw trying to cut it so he could split it. He has never run a saw or splitter so he was running the least dangerous. I finally got my straps out and told him how to go about tying the strap around a log so I could pull them out to get too them. I didn't realize he was tying up to 3 of them things at one time.
He said go ahead and I put a little pressure to the gas. I felt one tire slip a bit and then lock up. Right side was on the dirt but the left was on asphalt. I also have a Lock-Rite in the rear end. Once it locked up I gave her some more gas and with little trouble pulled 3 Ash logs about 18" diameter and abut 15' long out from under a pretty good pile of logs.
Not much trouble for a F250 or 4 wheel drive I know but I was right proud of my little F100. lol Sure was fun and beat climbing around in there.

Installed headlight switch (thanks Fordman's ebay auction!), removed rusty, thrashed painted mirrors. Attempted to install a new negative battery cable, only to find that 32" is not long enough. Removed the sill plates and took a peek under the floor mat to check the condition of the pans. Lots of dirt, some rust, but no holes!! woohoo!! Thought about filling the trans, but I had my good clean In-N-Out t-shirt on. No way I was going to crawl under and thrash it. I'll wait until I can move under cover. Next up... battery to go with the cable and a muffler.

Had a new tire put on front after a blowout. First time I have ever actually had a tire shop torque the lug nuts. And it was a young man working after school. He was admiring my truck and telling me about a 65 he's trying to restore. Also had a guard at the main gate of the Army Depot stop me to ask about it. Thought at first I was in trouble but he just wanted to talk about Ford trucks. Not a bad day except for the price of tires. And they seemed reasonalbe enough.

What I did today

Post by sport71 »

I put the fuel line that splits in two to the holley carb, because the one it had, had a very small hole in it. Put on the throttle linkag, and the passing gear rod. Also put the gear shifter linkage. Then bleed all 4 disk brakes. Started the truck and lit up the tires like nobodies business. It's a scarry monster beleave you me, I couldn't beleave how powerful the motor came out...

Saturday I raked leaves, filled some bags with them and started filling up the truck to haul them to the dump. Sticks and trash are going in the trailer. Started figuring out what next years project is going to be. Probably a disk brake conversion. Gonna have to see how much money is left after paying to have the oak tree in the front yard removed.
