did these things come stock with AC (meaning was it an option?) and if so what compressor was in them? Were the sandens only in higher end foreign cars? (volvo)

What things? If you mean our bumpside trucks, yes. A/C was available from the factory. The compressor used was the venerable York unit, not the lame Sanden unit.

A/C became a factory option in 1968.
If you want to use A/C in a '67 you will need to find a dealer add on unit or graft the heater control section of the dash from a '68-72 into your '67, as Keith has done in his truck.

Oh boy, you'll love the York then. I have a little experience with these, so... :D

There are 3 different displacement Yorks. A 6ci (206), a 9ci (209) and a 10ci (210). Look on the dataplate to see which compressor you have. The 209 and 210 compressors are the best for an onboard air setup, but don't fret if you end up having a 206...it will just take a little longer to refill your tank once you run it dry.

ya, any engine driven is plenty quick haha. and its not really possible to run out on an engine driven setup haha. just kick it on, hit some switches and its still pushin air in.
