Welcome to the site and forums! :wel: Glad to have you onboard!

The anti-rattle kits don't just include the fuzzies, but the window channel rubbers as well. IMHO it wouldn't make much sense to replace the lower seals without replacing the top and sides at the same time. However, if those rubbers are bad, chances are the door seals and vent seals are also bad, so I'd recommend getting the complete kit and do everything at once.

As for paint stripping, I once tried the wire wheel in a drill route, but like you I found that takes forever! A drill just doesn't have the RPMs or power that you need. If you're serious about getting rid of the mold and want to take it down to bare metal, seriously consider getting an inexpensive 4-1/2" angle grinder ($30) and use some 3M composite stripping wheels. I just got started stripping the paint from the box on my project, and was able to completely strip the left AND right side (top to bottom and left to right) in about 4 hours...and it's not nearly as hard on your body. The nice thing about the composite wheels as opposed to a wire wheel is that it's actually taken down to fresh virgin steel. Oftentimes a wire wheel simply burnishes the paint/rust without actually removing it. Here's the tools I use for paint stripping:

The wire wheel attachment in the angle grinder is great for nooks and crannies, while the blue composite wheel is best for more open areas. I'm serious, this is definitely the much-faster way of doing it.

There are a lot of forum members here who are from the Northwest...and I know many of them are parting out trucks and would almost give you a bench seat if you went and picked it up. Those aren't really a very sought-after item, and are usually sent to the recycler's when a truck is junked out, since nobody wants them. You can buy new foam and/or seatcovers, but if yours is a just a basic driver and you just want a decent good-condition seat to use, I'd suggest posting an ad in the Parts Wanted section of the forum and see what turns up.

Hope this helps...good luck! Post some pics when you can. I'd also suggest popping into the Welcome mat area and introducing yourself and maybe posting a pic or two there. :D

bleach will kill your mold. and you might try a different salvage yard for a new seat.

For the windows: Got to the above link. It will download the Dennis Carpenter Reproductions catalog for '67-'72 Ford trucks. Afetr it downloads, save it to your harddrive. On about page 129 there starts a good in-depth how-to article on relacing ALL the window weatherstripping in your doors, which is what you want to do.
You can also order a copy of that catalog if you want to.
Good luck and welcome aboard! :hi:

WOW. You guys know your stuff, and on a holiday weekend no less! Inspirational.

Will take all advice, and will also order the full weatherstripping kit---LMC has it for $100, or DC for $130. I'm tempted to buy from DC just to help pay for that outstanding article.

I'll give bleach a shot, although I am concerned it won't kill the mold underneath that layer of spray paint.

The dash is about halfway disassembled now, and I have chassis electrical "issues" to trace as well. Might start simultaneously pulling wires and scrubbing, or go ahead and take Keith's advice regarding paint stripping. (I do have a grinder, but it is set up as a biscuit joiner right now!)

thanks again to all -- I'll keep posting as progress happens

yeah you'll have to get rid of the paint to get rid of the underlying mold.

Some questions on weatherstripping...

There are a lot of different terms used (beltline, anti-rattlers, division bar, glass run, etc), and from the various catalogs I can't really figure out what it is that I need. Even the "all-inclusive" kits always seem to be missing something.

From what can tell, to replace all of the rubber for the movable windows, I need the following for each door:

- anti-rattlers (fuzzies that mount horizontally underneath my armpit)

- door glass run (top & rearward vertical)

- division glass run (forward vertical)

Anything missing?

The kits that provide this seem to run $100 (LMC) to $130 (Dennis Carpenter). However, AutoKrafters seems to have the exact same thing for $35 on page 5 of its catalog. Obviously I would much rather spend $35, but if it is missing some vital pieces then I would rather spend the $100. Help!

thanks again

You'll also need the main door gasket, which runs around the entire perimeter of the door and seals to the cab...and the vent window gaskets. Might as well do them all while you're at it, right? ;)

Good points. My vent windows are in pretty good shape, and I did the doors not too long ago---actually had the rubber in the garage for a few years thanks to JC Whitney but just put them in last week. (They only go about halfway down the door, as the previous ones did---is that right? Should they go all the way around?)

Yeah, they should go around the complete perimeter, to completely seal the door to the cab.

Just a quick question here.

Can I put the rubber sealers on the window instead of the fuzzies on my 67?
