Empty light bulb socket in dash?

Post by 69rangerman »

While waiting for my motor to get back from the machine shop I've been picking around and noticed that the little hole on the lower left side of the dash above the parking brake that I thought was some kind of fastener hole, acutally had the remains of a light bulb in it. What was this light for? Oil temp? pressure? Missile armed?

It's a brake warning light connected to your brake proportioning valve, when pressure flow is not correct in it then it turns on. Never seen one on yet. :lol:

Is there a tutorial on how to remove these, I would go out and look but my truck is 5 hours away. I just know mine has never worked and I would like to replace it.

Here you go...

================================

Brake warning light removal tutorial:

1) Reach in behind the dash and grab the back side of the light socket.
2) Push in and twist.

Wow, wish ALL the tutorials were that easy. :lol:
