leaf spring question

I'm going to install variable rate front coil springs that I understand lower the front an inch or two. I'm interested in modifying the rear leaf springs so that I can adjust the ride height.

I'm thinking that if I remove the lower helper it will lower my height and carrying capacity and give me a lower a less raked look, but that the air assist could restore the carrying capacity when I need it.

Has anyone installed any type of air-adjustable helper springs? What do you all think?
