Hey Keith,
I have a suggestion for a new category. I know you have quite a few, so one more may not be desired. However, I thought I'd offer it up...
What I would like to see is sort of along the lines of the vendor feedback, but more specific. This would be a "Parts Feedback" category (Reproduction or otherwise). Let's say I'm looking for arm rests for my '67, or replacement floor pans. I could go to this category and find "floor pans" or "67 arm rests" and under that topic, people could post their opinions of the quality of the items from the various vendors.
There are just SO many replacement part vendors, which is a good thing. However, some such as LMC sometimes seem to show different parts and the quality is hard to determine since you can't actually see and feel the item before hand. This would allow a central category for folks to say "Hey, Dennis Carpenter's arm rests are more accurate than those from NPD" (that's just an example, not a fact), or "I had a problem with the quality of the floor pans from [vendor here]".
Again, just a suggestion, but this has been one of the bigger questions I've often noticed here, and would be a great place for parts comparisons.
Thanks!

i second this idea. it would be very helpful to compare different vendors' parts and how close to stock they look, feel, etc.

re: Category Suggestion
Seems like this is something that could be addressed in the Vendor Feedback forum. I would take that forum to encompass that topic.

Well, the main reason is the subject of the Vendor Feedback section is "Tell us your good and/or bad experiences". I guess I see this as not so much looking for feedback on vendor experiences, as in seeking out the best items possible. It might fit in that category, but after a while all the posts of "who has the best ______ ?" may overcome the threads that just review vendors for their shipping, customer service, etc.
So it not really just vendors/parts feedback... it's more like reviews. That could include review/comparisons of pretty much any part. And not just repop parts, but things like temperature sensors, headlights, oil, gas, batteries, etc.

re: Category Suggestion
I don't think the forum is that limited in scope as to only "tell us about your good/bad experiences". I would say comparing items and parts from different sites would fall under vendor feedback.
It's not going to overwhelm the board, just provide more good information for everyone to digest and search through when their time comes. I say go for it. But that's just my.
Maybe someone else will chime in with there interpretation.

re: Category Suggestion
I agree, I think the vendors forum could also be used to show comparisons between similar items from different vendors. I don't really think there's enough of a demand for this to warrant a whole different forum though. But should the need arise in the future, we can definitely reconsider.

That's cool... It was just a suggestion. I'll start my threads like this one there from now on, and maybe others will follow suit.
Thanks for the feedback on the idea.
