Got my F-600 cluster today

Post by wt4speed#2 »

My friend came from Abilene this weekend. He brought my F-600 cluster , and I will attempt to post pictures here.

Nothing a coat of paint and a wiring clean up won't handle.

So what are your plans for it? Going to use the stock gauges or aftermarket?

That is a good question, and I knew it was comming. I think for now I'm gonna just hang on till I can get some aftermarket guages. The wiring is in pretty bad shape but just looking at the two (my stock has guages as well) it looks like it will pardon the expression ,plug and play . Any input?
But the price was right(free and he pulled it) and he dropped it by on his way back to Abilene.

The hassle of plug and play or factory style connectors is the tool to crimp them. I have carried my Mil Spec barrel compression tool forever ie. since i was first issued it. The plastic multi connectors use something different for a tool and the last time I bought one it cost me 48.27 in 1986 dollars. If they are to be done right. My term, done right, means they outlast the owner of the truck.

Thanks kid I was just referring the wiring on my stock cluster to the F-600 cluster it looks basically wired the same, if the wiring on the F-600 cluster wasn't so bad the main plugs are the same or appear to be. Haven't studied it real hard
