Tar paper on the fire wall?

Post by lifted72 »

Does anyone reproduce this piece? It's the part that goes against the firwall all the way across. I don't have one in good shape, nor can i find one at the junkyards. Also, does anybody have a transfer case shift boot? Because i need one of those also. Thanks, kyle

The firewall covers are reproduced, but they're ABS plastic and not the paper-based piece the factory versions are. I just got one a while back and I'm very impressed with it. Nice and flexible, has all the right holes and has insulation on the back, but will last a LOT longer than a cardboard cover.

Mac's has them for $165. (http://www.macsautoparts.com) They are listed as "Firewall Cover and Clips."

National parts Depot has them. That's where I got mine from.

I was thinking of replacing mine with Herculiner. Any thoughts? Would it be too loud in the cab?
