If you were to rebuild your c6 transmission to go along with your newly rebuilt 390, what would you do. What are the tips, tricks, and parts that make these trannys better? Thanks for your advice boys.

You can go mild to wild.

I used a TCI kit for mine, there are also lightweight drums, low ratio gears and trick bands.

all the trannies ive rebuild ive used brake cleaner to clean the case and valve body and parts you arent going to change, it cleans the holy hell out of everything. im looking into a tci torqueflight tranny and converter to put behind a 413 max wedge to put in a 1969 f250 4x4 ...i hear only good things about tci.

Haynes Techbook #10355 titled "Ford Automatic Transmission Overhaul" is a step by step pictorial guide through the process of rebuilding various transmissions, one of which is the C6. I highly recommend it.
