E-bay score

Post by scott »

My radio tuner broke as I was passing the local Pop/ hip hop/ elevator music station the other day. I cant stands it any longer!!!

I found this little gem on e-bay and sniped the other bidder at the last moment, (sorry if it was you.) Guy e-mailed me the dimensions and it will drop right into the bezel on my 72, cant wait till it comes!!!

Item description!!
Up for auction is a realistic 40 chanel cb,am/fm radio. It worked good when I removed it from my motorhome. I've had it for years. It should still work great. The cb has a digital readout for the numbers. The knobs are diffrent. The dials work good

The only problem with dual attenas is they cut down on your output power. Also they cb shop will tell you that they really need to be at least 102" apart to work the correct way. I was gonna put dual wilsons on mine but even with the camper special mirrors you fall short of the 102 by a long ways. BTW nice score on the radio. :2cents:

Last week I was talking to one of our drivers as I left the shop (Ch 10) (Low bleed and no one walking on me) I drove 2 miles before It even got staticy!!

Good enuff for me. I haven't even calibrated the swr yet.

On Edit, Your post compelled me to measure them, 97 3/4" spread center to center.

You really should adjust the SWR before the radio fries. You'll get out much farther with a good SWR, but more importantly, you won't damage the radio.

Just think with one 4' it would almost double on the distance your talking. I can sometimes get almost 10 miles on the right conditions. When i was driving over the road i was in Utah going south into SaltLake and was talking 20 miles there. But i was using a striker for a attenna. They look like a monkey made.
