Hey some warm and cheerfull people in my community let me know in a not so nice way that my rear lights on my 67 were not functioning. Not only were the break lights working but the left signal was out too. It took me about an hour or two to find the signal cam was the culprit. After removing it and testing it I found the brake light signal was melted and the contacts burnt. Other than some melted plastic everything looked fine. On the inside of the cam you can see were the rivit looking button clamps down the "W" shaped wire. There was no connection there, some how just enough corrosion to to kill the connection. Easy fix with solder. Next was the top side of the same connecter. It looks like a small brass "eye" with a brass rivit(this is the side you seee when the streering wheel is off). It looked perfect but the OHM meter said other wise. So a bead of solder there too. Finally, while taking it apart, I destroyed the metal retainer clip that held the cam to the base. I replaced the metal clip with a small washer and soldered that too. It's be working great for a week now.
I know how hard electric demons are and hope this helps anybody who has brake light a signal issues. Every time you hit the brakes the power travels throught the signal cam and eventually burns it up.
Thanks
