inside rearview mirrors

Post by ezernut9mm »

need more info on factory installed rearview mirrors. is this original, or oem replacement? there are ford part nr's on the stalk pieces, but they don't look like what is posted in the "identifying" pages.

hey EZ...

yeah.. that's stock... I got the same kind on my '68 CS.

There should also be another piece with a stud like thing with a ball that sticks on the windshield.

that's the one, but i'm having a heck of a time keeping it in adjustment. i took it off today and crunched it ever so lovingly in a vise to see if i could get it to cinch up and hold a little better.

i have the same problem with mine i turned the mirror over to make the smile go up on the mirror and it now stays in place but i need tofigure out how to make it work the proper way. i was thinking about putting a gum wrapper or something in there to tighten it up. how did the vise trick work?

Try to stick some small pieces of bicycle inner tube in the ball sockets.
