in the ignition wiring there is a violet wire that connects to the ammeter wire in the dash and to the shunt.

can he get by wiring it to the instrument clusters wire for the same method or is it unneccesarry in the new harness he has?

i sure his new harness doesn't have a shunt built in.

:? are you talking about the Violet wire in this diagram http://www.fordification.com/images/sch ... _quick.jpg that connects to the Grn-Red... Note that Violet wire is a resistive wire!

yup.

i asked Keith last night during chat and found out that it isn't required to run the truck.

so i think Layedout72 is gona ap it off incase it is live when the ign. is on and run with an aftermarket volt. gauge.
