Hi all,
I have a 1969 F100 with a 3-speed manual. Few days ago the shifter does not respond, completely blocked. The only way to unblock it is moving with the hand the shift arm on column (2nd and 3rd arm). It happens everytime...
Some ideas ? it seems just an arm rolling ?
Thanks,
Shifter blocked

and to the site. Have you tried adjusting it? I am not real familiar with column shifting manuals. Hang in there, someone here I am sure will give you the answer.

Hi and welcome. Have some one move the lever while you observe under the hood. The shift bowls are known to break, that's the part of the column that the lever is pinned to. Also I have seen the tab that is welded to the tube it rotates break off. I'm not sure how much shipping would be but I have a whole column that I would give you for the shipping. I am not positive of it's condition because the truck last had an automatic and floor shift. I could check it out if you want it.
Also the shift arms will get worn and the tab that indexs into them will slip out of the notch and get in between. Sometimes you can remedy that buy squeezing them together with some big pliers.

Great ideas have always encounter violent opposition from mediocre minds.
