automatic temp control

I have a 72 LTD that has the automatic temp control but it only blows outside temp air no hot no cold just outside. Which is pretty chilly right now. Does anyone out there have any ideas on how to fix this?

i would make sure the heater valve is open. that should help blow heat in. also that any doors to the outside are closed inside the heater box.

if it has the valve in the heater hose (under the hood) remove it and plug the vacuum line. the auto temp will not work but at least you will have manual controlled heat again. also the unit is costly like $125 to 150.

if not check for low coolant.
