light switch?

so i was paintin my gauge panel today and while it was off i noticed that there is some sort or gear on my light switch. i know the pull and push to operate the lights, but why does it turn?

That is the dimmer for the dash lights and if you turn it all the way counter clockwise it will turn on the dome light. :thup:

If it Looks good and Works good then it's ok by me. Everything has its issues from time to time...

if your dome light doesnt work its because the spring inside theat gear is either dirty or broken. just fyi.

thats crazy, iv'e had 2 of these trucks and never knew that it turned. the dome light does come on too. man just a little attention to detail goes a long way :doh: . thanks guys :thup:

I finally got one that works correctly after 12 years.
