What do you all think about getting a dash pad from Jcw?

personally i'd only buy from jcw as a last resort, i find their products to be inferior to those sold by lmc, botp, npd or dc :2cents:

It's not a reproduction, but a brand new original.
This is scary....I'm with Montana on this one. :?

I'd ordered their "junk" before to find out the shipping to return an item would cause me to lose a lot of money.

If it is truly the 'Ford tooling"....it's the same original equipment like DC uses, and this should be a nice item.
Did JCW get the Ford dash making machine instead of DC getting it?

I have to disagree... I think the JC Whitney dashes must come from DC or something, OR they also got a machine. Both JCW and DC are the only ones (except for NPD, which probably get theirs from DC) that sell these dash pads as "new originals".

First, they have to be OEM-style in order to get/use this:
Image

Second, it says it is "Produced under license by the Ford Motor Company". So they are licensed to reproduce it. They arent just making it up. If Ford is licensing it, it must be near-original, or made from the old equipment.

Third, it's descibed as a "Urethane-foam-filled vinyl dash pad" which is "just like the original because it's made to original specifications using Ford's original tooling". Those are some pretty big claims to be making if that weren't the case.

Fourth, it says "Dash pad includes metal inserts for added strength and to help pad maintain its shape." That's just how ours were made.

Finally, "Your complete satisfaction is our number one goal. If for any reason, you are not 100% satisfied with your purchase, just return the item within 90 days for an exchange or refund."

So if it's not exactly what it says, you can return it.

They have a "Live Chat" function, so you can chat or call them and ask if they make them or get them from Carpenter. Either way, I'd say it's worth the difference to take a shot. These do NOT look like the crap-@ss dash pads that Cal-Mustang was sellilng.

These are like $50 less than Carpenter's, and if you hunt around and google "JC Whitney discount codes", you can find a deal. In fact, here's a heck of one that expires today:
$75 off $300 coupon
Receive $75 off your online order of $300 or more.
This coupon added on Feb 22 & last tested on Feb 23 by Jen.
Use code: DEDBBX8
Expires: Feb 28 08

That's a heck of a deal! You could get this dash pad for $255 (plus shipping, etc.)

Just added a dash pad from there to my cart and plugged in the code. It worked! Here's how it shook out:

Subtotal $329.99
Tax $0.00
Shipping Insurance $0
Discount -$75.00
Estimated Shipping & Handling $29.99
Heavy Item Surcharge $12.00
Total $296.98
I'd get one myself if I could just find an extra $300 or so laying around... :2cents:

HAHA! That's awesome... although I REALLY doubt they are "NOS", they ARE probably made with the original equipment, so it's close to the same.

I thought you were chatting with a computer a first... lol

Must have pics. Mine looks similiar to the factry part except the defroster vents screw into the pad instead of being molded in. Mine fit like crap...
