Well, I have finally decided that I will simply work on the 69, get it running good and fully operational...then I'll worry about the 72 4x4.
I start disassembling the 69 yesterday. I lost my camera...so I will get pics together as soon as I can. Not sure when that will be.
I'll be stripping it down to frame, sanding and painting the frame and components, then back together. I will be painting it satin black with white spoke rims and white raised letter tires. The interior will be stripped and painted as well.
I am hoping to get this done in the next few months so I can drive it awhile before going down-range. I want it to be fully mission capable so i can store it while I'm gone and not worry about it.
The 72 4x4 will get a fresh 302 and stripped down as well. There is alot of metal replacement that will take place on that one...floor pans are completely see through right now, fenders are held together with rust...etc.
More to follow.

I got both front fenders off, the hood and the tailgate. Tomorrow after church I am going to take the bed off.
The rust is worse than I thought, but not bad overall. My wife found the camera while I was out with the truck, So I'll get you all some pictures.

Well, I'm going to keep it the same color for now. The paint is rough in places, but it cleaned up pretty decent. I will eventually paint it...but the interior paint cleaned up nice as well, and I would rather keep it original for now.
I put the white spoke rims on it for now. I'm going to blast them and repaint them eventually.
So...for now, my task list is:
1. Get a new carbeurator
2. New master cylinder and brake lines
3. Remove, clean, put gas tank back in.
Also I will be removing the entire gas and brake lines and replacing...they are all gummed up real bad. The two under bed gas tanks the PO installed will come out as well...if I can figure out how.
I definitely have to get a grinder and a sander...I can't believe I have made it this long without them.
