Factory original or Aged Resto

Post by benm78 »

Just trying to figure out if our 68 F100 has original door panels, seat cover, dash pad and carpet. It is so clean that it is hard to believe, yet still worn enough that it is believeable. Odometer reads 67k and original title shows one sale with miles recorded as such.

Anything that would be dead giveaways? Also, I am certain that the parts used look correct from the surface, what I am uncertain on is whether or not they may be good reproduction parts.

Thanks,
Ben

Hey benm78...

The stock door panels on my '68 CS look pretty much like SteveC's above, except they have the '68 and up style arm rests and door handles.
The trim and everything is the same...
My '68 CS is a Custom Cab, the Ranger might have vinyl covered card board panels instead of the metal ones...

Yes, you've got the right interior for a 68. I have a 68 too. the vinyl is really strong. Mine looks great with 127K miles.

if they are orignal they should have a part number on the back side of the plastic panels. when i went over and seen your truck before you picked it up i thought everything was original except the stickers and stuff the seller put on it.

So that's what it's called. I thought I was the only one with that color.

Do the Fordiacs with this color truck like it?

Well, I didn't really like it when I got the truck. But then it grew on me. Basically part of the fun for me owning a truck from 1968 is the nostalgia of it and this is a color that could only have existed back then. :D
