Need Help - Identify an Instrument Cluster for 1967 F100

Post by 1967 F100 »

I've recently purchased a 1967 Ford F100 Ranger longbed. This is my first ever pickup. I'm familiar with Fords but mostly of the classic Mustang era. What I'm needing to know is the year and type of truck a certain instrument gauge cluster came from. I read an article posted in the Project 67 section titled "Changing and Restoring the Gauge Cluster" on Bumpsides.com in their Technical Section. The author stated that "Ford truck owners of this era are using the round gauge cluster used in larger Ford trucks." I really liked the look of this cluster and was wondering if anyone could help me out in identifying the year and model it came from. The cluster has five gauges on the center of the panel. The large gauge in the center is the speedometer. 2 small gauges stacked to the right is an ammeter and oil pressure gauge. 2 small gauges stacked to the left is the fuel gauge and water temp. An opening to the left and right of the main gauge set is an opening for a larger gauge. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

1967 F100,

The gauge panel you describe is the F-600 from the same era as our trucks, although I can never remember exactly what years will fit.
Here's one good thread on the swap:

Hey 67mann!! that's the one I've seen. So it's the F600 then? Wow there's a lot of potential in this setup. I appreciate the fast and friendly help. I can tell that this is the place to be for my project. Thank you all.

some fine steel wool will take that surface rust off of that. then wax it or use some chrome polish to keep the rust from coming back to fast.

Mine came out of a 1976 F700. 0000 (four zero) steel wool is the only steel wool to use on chromed steel. I used some on the light surface rust on this cluster and you can see how it worked. Remember, make sure your truck is equipped with the 4 gauges and not the two "idiot" lights for oil and alternator in the instrument cluster if you are going to put one of these in your truck. I will be installing mine after I do a cab swap and harness swap in my truck.
