it sounds more to me like you have a short in the rear tail light to tail light harness. the side marker lights arn't suppose to blink at all. By the looks of your photo iether you've primed the bed or replaced it with another one. the side marker lights plug into a yellow female plug on the rear harness next to where the tail lights plug in. These are short little harnesses and one side screws to right behind the taillight on the bed. Good grounds are really important for the side marker lights. I would also check your rear harness where the main harness running from the front firewall plugs into it, as a lot of them have been cut up or spliced into for trailer lights. I'm not a fan of splice connectors as they break the insulation on the wires turning them brittle after a period of time which is one of the main causes for tail light problems, the other is grounding issues. Ford grounded the lights by the screws that fasten the taillight buckets and the #6 screws that the side marker light harness is screwed down with. the front turn signals have seperate wires running from the T/S switch so that shouldn't effect the rear lights or markers.

cool, I'm over in joplin.

make the big S every once in a while.

did you get the wiring dfigured out yet?

I know under the truck the running lights are the brown wire(s).

these are where the wires for the side markers conect to eventualy. not sure of the color inside thhe area of the lights.
