Dash Speaker
Just wondering if anyone has replaced their under-dash speaker with one of the repros, if so where they got it, and if they are happy with it?
Right now I have a "box" type speaker mounted to the dash on the passenger side. I'd like to get rid of it as it's crackly and replace it with an under-dash speaker like the truck came with. I know NPD, LMC, and others sell dual-cone speakers. Anyone ever tried one of these?
Also, my stereo doesn't have RCA jacks, so can you use regular 'ol speaker wire?
Thanks!

I replaced my under-dash speacker with one from LMC. It was the dual speaker. I never had a speaker there before but it makes a heck of a difference. Not a single complaint about it!

It was very easy. I have an after-market cd player in the truck so I used normal speaker wire. It was a direct replacement!

Re: re: Dash Speaker
Which one did you use? The dual cone or the 2 speaker version? How did you mound it??? The factory speaker had a bracket in which the magnet of the speaker went into the bracket for mounting. I would like the dual cone speaker for mine but I need to know if both channels will be heard. Let me know!mrtleavitt wrote:I replaced my under-dash speacker with one from LMC. I was wondering which one, as well... the dual coil one appears to be the best choice. It supports up to 130w, compared to only 30w for the dual speaker one.
The dual-coil one looks just like the original to me... so maybe it'll fit into the factory bracket?

Yup, that's the one I used. Worked just fine.
