cigarette lighter shorting out

So ive just installed my cigarette lighter, from Dennis Carpenter, since it never came with one but had the connections on the harness for one. It installed fine but when when i push in the lighter itself i get sparking inside and it shorts out. I have hooked up the wires the same way they are in the diagram so im not sure what im doing wrong. Has anyone else had this problem? Thanks.

Ok so as it turns out i didnt know how cigarette lighters worked like i thought i did. everything works fine now:)
