I've got a few mystery wires that I'm not sure where they go to and I can't seem to find them on the quick reference chart here.
2 brown wires going into a stock connector....what goes into this connector
black/green goes into a three prong plug with one of the wires being orange with a white tracer which goes to the windshildwiper switch, the other wire that was plugged into was burnt and ran somewhere to the passenger side of the truck any ideas what this wire was?
2 blue red wires into a facotory connector connected to a black wire that someone has cut. I think this has something to do with the heater.
There are all little issues but I want everything to work properly.

AHHH I replaced the fusebox earlier today because it was pretty crappy and the power terminal was broke....anyways I was checking to make sure everything worked and now the flashers and brake lights dont work. Any ideas whats up with that and yes everythign is wired up at the box correctly.

re: Other wiring headaches
hmmmm
I posted the exact same info yesterday... wonder where it went ???
I tried looking at the schematic to figure out what yer other wires might be for.
I wasn't able to come to any conclusion...
The master schematic doesn't list the wire colors.
You might wanna PM Thunderfoot... he's pretty good with wirin'

re: Other wiring headaches
How about the brake lights ??? Are they both working???
I was just having problems with one brake light and it was the turn signal switch.
It wasn't making contact on one side so the brake light on that side didn't work...
I was certain it wasn't the switch because I had just installed a brand new one that only had about 200 miles on it...
If you don't have stuff that isn't working...
I wouldn't worry about extra wires...
but if you have stuff that isn't working, I'd check the schematic for that circuit and see if those wires not being hooked up could be the reason it didn't work.
I was surprised by the number of loose wires I have under the dash, but everything still works.
So they might be for options we don't have like A/C or somethin'

re: Other wiring headaches
Nah neither of them work. The turn signal switch is really crappy and very loose maybe that is the problem i have a good used one I should go put it on.

Hey Lance,
I went camping over the 4th... I'm back now
Umm, which one (year) truck you working on?
For the most part they are the same so here is what I have for answers to your questions.
That's what I got for ya for now... Get me some more info and I might be able to figure out the rest.

If it is the one I'm thinking of, it is use for camper specials for the fender marker lights. Look at this diagram http://www.fordification.com/images/sch ... _81-85.jpg at connector (N) with wires 984. Does it look like that connector? If not let me now what year the truck is as this one could change...2 brown wires going into a stock connector....what goes into this connector
I think your talking about connector (B) in this diagram http://www.fordification.com/images/sch ... washer.jpg The burnt wire is there any color left on it? I believe that this connector would also have the radio power connected to it... and an extra spot left over for what ever that needed power when the key was on...black/green goes into a three prong plug with one of the wires being orange with a white tracer which goes to the windshildwiper switch, the other wire that was plugged into was burnt and ran somewhere to the passenger side of the truck any ideas what this wire was?
Are you sure it is blue wire with red stripe and not a Red wire with Blue stripe? Also what does the connector look like and where is it at?2 blue red wires into a facotory connector connected to a black wire that someone has cut. I think this has something to do with the heater.
The power for the brake lights and the E-flashers come from the fuse box, so make sure the fuse is good and that you are getting power out of the fuse box on the Red - White striped wire (383) in this diagram. http://www.fordification.com/images/sch ... _81-85.jpg you will see that it splits off at the flasher as (284) which is the power to the brake light switch.AHHH I replaced the fusebox earlier today because it was pretty crappy and the power terminal was broke....anyways I was checking to make sure everything worked and now the flashers and brake lights dont work.
