That is scary close to the one I am going to build for my bump, but I might also go with a brushed look instead. It's still up in the air.

Ryan, you can do that dash, but it's a lot of work. To do it right you need a drill press set up with a peg board table (1/2" between pin holes). Put some 1/4" bolts in the holes to act as guides and stops. Mount a small wire brush in the chuck and set the depth stop so each swirl will be the same size.
Make swirl, move stop peg on over, make swirl, repeat.
Do each line right to left so the swirls overlap the same way. It's really cool to see a hand made one because it takes oh so much time to do. Of course a CNC mille could do the whole thing in an hour or so.

oh i just figured it was a sheet of metal you could buy thats allready swirled from the factory. i dont think i would have the patience to hand swirl every swirly swirl.
if your interested and it doesnt take too much of your effort then i will pay you and i can send you a cluster insert (or whatever you want to call it, the whole background deal that has the guages into it) thats cut to size and you can make swirlies on it
let me know if your interested.
hmmmm. dont you have one of those?Ranchero50 wrote:Of course a CNC mille could do the whole thing in an hour or so.
