I am gonna swap out my seat in my 69 for a much better one I found in a junk yard for $10. Thing I was wondering was, the "new" seat does not flip forward whereas my old one does. I see this as a useful feature. Now I have not looked closely yet but can I swap out the seat parts to make the new one flip forward?
Also. To get this seat outa the junk yard truck I had to cut the drivers side floor mount off. I looked under the old seat it looks like I can swap the seat brackets, just not sure how much of a project it is with the seat track and all. Or is it safe to mount it with three brackets only on the floor??

re: Seat Question
You probably got a seat out of a '72 or newer truck...I think federal laws required that seats had some kind of a lock starting around then so the backs wouldn't fly forward in a wreck, or something...Since p/ups don't have a back seat I guess they figured there was no need to have the unlocking device like on coupes for access into the back seat...Mine is a '72, and there's just two metal u-shaped rods coming out the bottom of the seat back with a bolt going through each one to keep the seat from tilting forward...Just remove the bolts and you're seat will tilt forward like your old one...
This is the point...I'm....talking about everybody! I'm talking about form! I'm talking about content! I'm talking about interrelationships! I'm talking about God, the devil, hell, heaven!!!! Do you understand???? Finally!!!!

While on this subject, does anyone have the width measurement of the stock seat in our truck handy?
Found a seat on craigslist and would like to compare measurements.
Thanks,
Patrick
