Seeing the plug it looks to me to be newer than 67.Todd

The later f-600's had electrical tachs. Im not sure if it will work on your cummins or not???.. I would think it would. Both my Dodge diesels had electric tachs.

I dont think this one is from a f-600 tho, maybe a ford school bus??

it looks right. and by the way he talks it sounds like it will fit in the f600 panel. i cant help you with hooking it up though. don't the electric ones run off of the coil?

Well I found another and was wondering if this one will work and fit in the gauge cluster? I need to email him for measurements.

That is a correct diesel tach, that is why it only goes to 3K. Hawkrod

They are cable driven, I am not sure where it would come off of on your engine but some older engines used a tach drive off of the generator. Going along those lined you could probably make something that is driven by the fan belt. You need it to turn 1 revolution for each revolution of the engine. Should not be too hard to make something like that up. Hawkrod
