Electric windows

has anyone converted there manual windows to electric windows in there old 67 truck? and if so what other vehicles will work as for as the parts go outside of a Lincoln because I know they will work. Mostly interested in the window regulators and the door lock mechanism.

I an using a kit I got from NPD for my '69. So far all the parts fit just fine.
Doing electric door locks, too!

i used the factory regulator, just got creative and welded a small bracket for the window motor onto thew old hardware. im not sure but i think most ford window motors have the same size gearing so they will mesh correctly. sorry no pics. maybe ill take some tommorrow

hey 70shortwide What year and model vehicle did you use the factory one from? I am looking to replace everything in the doors to all electirc when I replace the all the windows seals and runners. Any help will be appreciated.

all i did was cut the knob gear out and weld an electric motor in.(bracket of course) when i took the motors out of the donor I took about 3 inches of the regulator arm with it. i think thats what its called. anyway just set it all together where it looked like it would work and welded it up. if i knew how to draw you a picture it would be easier to explain. i got the motor from a mid 80s lincoln, however i would suggets you dont use those. the drivers side broke about 2 days after i put it together and i cant find another. there was a 4 yr or so stretch where all they fit is 4 door lincolns. try to use something common

The F-series truck power window assemblies from early 80's up to about 96 are a very simple design,I have swapped them into a couple of different dentside's,so I would think bumps would be as easy,it was mearly matching the mounting holes from the donor truck and playing with the spacing(shimming) the mounting bolts,or the universal flat glass streetrod type work well and now they are only running about $110 or so.For my 63 I am installing the streetrod type ,found a new kit at swapmeet for $80.00,but I will look at trying the F-series soon on my bump,will get pics on here when I do.

I got an idea from marz68 in this posting http://fordification.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=13095 .
I fabricated basically the same thing and it works very well for over a couple years now. I used motors out of a 80's something Ford truck, but the trick is to weld or braze your old gear on top the new one for it to work correctly.
