I'm sorry to have to ask this because it's something probably everyone knows except me.

What's the small torpedo like thing on the bottom of the voltage regulator? :? I recently replaced my regulator and the "new" one doesn't have one. Is it needed? What does it do?

It is a noise filter to keep static off the radio.
The old (original) regulators had points in them that caused noise but the new solid state ones don't need this. :thup:

If it Looks good and Works good then it's ok by me. Everything has its issues from time to time...
