electrical ghosts
My head lights turn themselves on and off does anyone have any ideas. There is a fuse mounted on the passenger side kicker panel(a large square block with 3 wires) what would you call it other than a fuse no parts house or dealer can look it up?

Re: electrical ghosts
The Headlight switch has a built in self-resetting circuit breaker. They get week over time and do this OR if you put aftermarket High Watt bulbs in the truck this switch will not handle the extra load causing this blinking to happen.
The thing on the passenger side is called a "circuit breaker"

Re: electrical ghosts
This is the piece you're talking about, and it's actually a relay, not a fuse or circuit breaker....and it has nothing to do with your problem.
As fordman and Thunderfoot stated, your problem is either with the headlight switch (the internal circuit breaker) or the dimmer switch. Replace the headlight switch. When others have reported symptoms exactly like yours, 98% of the time it's the headlight switch. The other 2% was the dimmer switch.

Re: electrical ghosts
If the 3 wires are a Brown wire, a Black wire, and a Black/white striped wire going to it then it is the Relay for the marker lights. This is used on Camper Specials (for the front fender marker lights and the camper), and trucks that have roof lights and flat bed marker lights. Here is the wire diagram for it http://www.fordification.com/images/sch ... arkers.jpg you can also see the circuit breaker in line for it as well. This is all mounted on the passenger side of the truck under the dash, above the side vent.
Either way it wont effect your headlight any...

Re: electrical ghosts
Could be a dimmer switch.
