Ballast resistor or not?
We put a flame thrower coil(1.5 ohm) and a points eliminator kit on a 67 f100 with a 360(stock was a 352). When we got the truck in to start the resto it didn't have a ballast resistor on it. When I rewired it I put a new one on it on because the painless book showed it on and included it. The flamethrower book said it doesnt need it with the 1.5 ohm coil so I took the resistor off and it runs fine without it. Should I put it back on or leave it off?
1968 swb hydroboost, ididit tilt column, Saginaw p/s pump with F series serpentine, all led lights, Vintage Air and painless wiring. 393w, tko600. CV front suspension w/c5 calipers and gt500 rotors. Stock Flexomatic leaf springs with 01 CV 8.8, 3.90 gears and Auburn locker. Custom wood bed floor. Full frame off resto-mod.

Re: Ballast resistor or not?
If the flame thrower book says to leave it off, I would leave it off.
