I bought one of the NPD repops for my '68... If you have a 68-69 I can give you the corresponding colors.
LIke seattle67 said, we really need to know what year you're workin' on to give you the correct info...

I will tell you one thing, if you haven't opened the switch package from NPD, send it back and get the good one from them.
I have had nothing but trouble with the repop. Now, I still have to buy a good switch and am also out the cost of the other one.

I'm working on a 1970 f-100 4x4. i don't know the exact part number, but its the one that kaptnkaos is talkin about. and no, it didnt come with any instructions

I'm not sure if the colors are different on those or not...

I can give you the color and the function, and you can match it up to the schematics already posted here on FORDification.
Just a side note... even on the stock turn signal switch (TSS), the colors can be different than the actual; harness that they plug into into.
I'm not sure if the circuit numbers are the same on a '70

Here are the wire colors and functions of the wires coming out of my switch...
I won't confuse you with the wire placement I have 'cause I know in will be different on yours.
'67-'69 TSS have two connecters where '70-'72 only has one connecter, but both have the same number of wires on the switch.

Blue = power coming from the flasher unit
Green w/red stripe = brake light & e-flasher
Blue w/yellow sripe = horn button
Green w/white stripe = Lt front TS
Green w/orange stripe = Lt rear TS
White w/blue stripe = Rt front TS
Orange w/blue stripe = Rt rear TS

2 white w/blue wires
2 green w/white
2 red w/black
blue

yellow w/black

anyone know anything about that?

Do you know if the column has been changed ??? The number of wires don't even match up.

Peel back some of the insulation tape and see if the main harness has been hacked...
I don't think that you should have multiples of the same color...
It's possible that a PO has hacked the harness and wired in a new connecter or something...
Hard to tell, after almost 40 years, anything is possible.

The 2 white w/blue wires are for the right front turn and dash indicator
The 2 green w/white wires are for the left front turn and dash indicator
The 2 red w/black wires are for the Brake lights and rear hazard lights
The blue wire is the power for the turn signals (turn signal flasher)
The green wire is the Left rear brake/turn light
The Yellow w/black wire is the Right rear brake/turn light
You should also have a Orange/white wire for the horn...

I was thinkin' about the holes not the wires coming in to them from the back side...
Sorry about the misinformation... That two of the same color wire thing had me puzzled...

There are 8 holes in the connector, one is empty...
3 holes have two wires each... just like Thunderfoot said....
Just as Thunderfoot said, there should be one more wire...
I only know that 'cause 3 holes with two wires each and three holes with one wire each still add up to 6 holes being used.
Since one hole stays empty, that leaves one hole left unaccounted for... and that's the results of a college education

another question, the connector that your supposed to put all the wires into, is it really necessary? mine broke when i was taking out the old switch. oh and thunderfoot, i have a blue w/yellow horn wire?! but i guess it doesnt really matter as long as i know thats the horn wire

that is what keeps the two clips together is a pair of them. if you only have one clip the wires could fall out of the one clip. i think it would be unsecure. i wouldn't cut the plug off of both sides and make it one wire. what happens when you need to pull the column out? i did go without a plug on one side of the wire for awhile and it did work though. so you could plug the wires indivdualy into the other plug if you had to.

So really i could just use butt connectors and put the wires together w/out problems?

You could use bullit connectors... but I wouldn't use butt connecters.
If you use the bullit connecters, I'd put a piece of electrical tape around each one.
Which side broke, the column side or the harness side?
I might have the right connecter, I can't promise anything... it won't be until next week...
Tomorrow is my friday (onlt this week) and I'm goin' campin' until Sunday.

its not really broken, but the switch wires came with the ends that go into the connector, they didnt fit so i cut them off to just put the wires together w/out it. is there a benefit to the bullits, i mean besides being able to take them apart?

Not really any other benefit...

Did you cut the harness side or the column side???
The tips on the wires have tabs on them (that's what holds them in the connecter).
You can take a small flat screw driver and depress the tab and pull the wire out of the connecter.
Once you get the the technique down it only takes a second to get the connecter off.
They actually make a tool for that, but I've never used one.
If you cut the column end off to get the old switch out, and didn't cut the harness side you could still use the stock connecter with the new switch.
