Ok i am getting close to FINALLY wiring the engine after i fixed the clutch prob.
I was gonna put the under dash harness from the same truck and use its gauge cluster but it is just gonna be to much work.
And last time i was talking about this I think it was "Averagef250" told me there was only three wires i really had to hook up to get it to run.( dont quote me my memory sucks anymore)
But anywho i was wandering what wires from the under hood harness i needed to hook up to get this thing to run/ I am gonna be using the EFI motors alt so i figure ill need to hook up the wires with the fusible links that went to the starter solinoid on the efi truck.
I already have a place to mount the computer and such. And i know the starter wire is one of the wires to hook up.
What other wires do i need to hook up?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you in advance

Re: ot wiring a efi 351w which wires?
The Colors depend on the year of donor.
The wires are the 2 power wires at the solenoid (constant Hot) and the switched power from the key. Don't use your old coil resistor wire because it will not provide enough amperage to power everything and your truck will only run when revved up.
I used the resistor wire to energize a relay on the firewall and took power from there to feed the new harness.
The most important test. If you are using a TFI ign. Switched power at the crank pin on dist and constant power at the run pin.
At the solenoid i used my old crank signal wire to energize it and connected the crank signal wire from the new harness to that point. If you do this you have to snip the same wire at the other end, (where it goes into the trans neutral switch connector) or you will pick up 12v that will cause your crank signal at the dist to be always hot.
I was gonna use the 3G from the donor on my conversion but after careful consideration I used the original 1G. This is due to the fact that it was easier to make a bracket for the 1G alt then it was to rewire the engine bay for the new 3G.
You can blend the old w/ the new for water temp and oil pressure but you will need to use the old senders because the amperage requirements are different.

Re: ot wiring a efi 351w which wires?
engine is a 92 and the harness came from a 91 351w with a manual transmission since i have it matted to a m5r2 5 speed.
so its the wires that go to the soilinoid. K i figured it was them. I have a 88 f150 i can kinda refrence to at least to see how things are hooked up... I know the colors are probally different.
Btw IF you blend the wires for the temp and oil wouldnt that mess with the computer ? or am i off in left field again
and it is gonna have the TFI module, but why would U want to change the two pins on the TFI module?
Thanks for the help its gonna be a bit till i get the truck down here but i will try to get stuff done
If any one else wants to add i will appreciate any help
