Re: Rubber floor mat?
I got mine from Dennis Carpenter and I really like the way it fit. Its made of good quality and was prices resonably. Thats the one I would recommend.

Re: Rubber floor mat?
Everything I have heard about the other venders, that carry the rubber floor mats, has been poor. Poor fitting, poor quality and poor service.
Dennis Carpenter uses the original tooling whenever possible so fitment is usually not a problem. They are a little more expensive, but the quality is better too.

Re: Rubber floor mat?
i had a rubber floor mat in a 70 i used to own. bought it from lmc. fit and looked great. it cover from the back of the back of the gas tank all the way up the fire wall. looked really nice, the only thing is that rubber does not breath. when you truck sweats or build moisture the rubber does not let it evaporate. you know what that means! rust.

Hey hotrod Ford...
I'm sure that's why Ford used a jute mat between the floor and the rubber mat.
It keeps a layer of air betwen the two and the jute helps the mositure evaporate...

Re: Rubber floor mat?
yeah, i know about the jute mat. it doesn't help though if you live in a highly humid area. you will still develope a hihg amount of moisture if you have a rubber floor mat instead of carpet.

Re: Rubber floor mat?
It depends on your taste and use of the truck, but I am seriously considering spray in bedliner on my floor. It will be a moisture barrier and easy to clean. It is available in colors as well. I would think the sound reduction would be nice with it. I am not talking about wally world roll on stuff here, but professional stuff..It is popular in the offroad crowd. It will still be more expensive than a mat.

Re: Rubber floor mat?
I plan on the spray in bed liner also. Then I will probably throw down the ford carpet cover I got with the last truck. I might even put down a new rubber mat. With the cummins I need as much sound deadner as i can get.

Re: Rubber floor mat?
The '71 CS I had black bed liner in with nice rubber floor mat with a big Ford Emblem in the center (right where it goes over the tranny hump.) It looked really good.
