'69 Ranger Gauge Cluster?

Post by 4dtrks »

Ok, so my '69 Ranger came with the light colored wood grain trim on the gauge cluster. I really dont like the wood grain at all, but just so I know, how common is the light colored wood grain? Also, the original cluster had dummy lights for the alternator and oil pressure. Are the clusters with lights any rarer, or more saught after than the gauged clusters?

The wood grain was a Ranger only item as it matched the wood grain pattern on the side moldings, and some of the other in cab moldings on the dash.I would say that gauges are more in demand than dummy lights. Once the oil warning light goes off you're screwed. I'd rather have an oil pressure gauge so I can see when it's low, high, spiking or fluctuating.

69 had a different colored woodgrain than 70 and up. the 69 is lighter colored and more sort after than the 70 and up colored woodgrain. the clusters with dummy lights are probably more rare than the guages. but i am guessing. most guys are up grading thier trucks to guaged clusters or putting in mechanical guages and by passing the dummy lights in thier clusters.
