no fire

Post by loweredf1 »

i have msd 6al box, billet dist, blaster 3 coil. just put motor back in and wont start! everything worked great before. i have shorted the pickup wires and i do get spark off the coil wire, i tested the resistance of the pickup and it was 1048-within spec, i also have hooked the small red wire directly to battery still no fire. i then pulled the 6al out of my race car and hooked it up and still no fire. also did all the previous tests with with this box and everything checks out ok. pulled the cap and the rotor is turning when cranking the engine. i have also put a spark plug on the coil wire and am not getting spark that far so i dont think it is a cap and rotor problem :?

i got it goin. just for future reference a fords dist. still turns counter clockwise therefore your plug wires should be ran counter clockwise. DUH! but it does seem i do have an issue with my 6al as it will run on the one out of my race car and not on the one i had in so it will be going in for repaires or replaced. thanks guys
