Re: Metra Kit for in dash cd
It is a plastic molded piece. I just looked at mine and there really isn't any room for modifying it. The opening is 2 1/8 by 7 1/8. Hope that helps. I would think most after market decks would fit.

If it's a single DIN stereo, which most aftermarket units are, it should fit just fine. The sleeve for the stereo slides into the plastic piece, then push down the appropriate tabs on the sleeve to lock it to the plastic piece.
Here's a step by step of what I did:

I was wondering how you did it, you have to cut the inner piece out. I don't have a dremel tool, but a heated knife should melt through right?
Re: Metra Kit for in dash cd
Uh oh, I have tabs on the top and bottom! Ill see if I can modify it to work, hopefully.

Top and bottom of what, the stereo sleeve? Just use a couple of the bottom ones and a couple of the top ones. You'll be set.JMcTurnan wrote:Uh oh, I have tabs on the top and bottom! Ill see if I can modify it to work, hopefully.

Where do you have tabs on the top and bottom? I'm not following you here.

Hmmm. I've never heard of that setup before.
You should be able to weld some metal tabs on there, though. Good luck with your project!
