Yes, It will wobble without a back brace.
Depending on what you use for a back brace, it may still wobble, but the amount will be significantly less.
If you install withoug a back brace you will regret it after the first really badly ruttted or pot-holed road as they wobble will just increase with the additional wear

Both mine are mounted and do not have a back brace. I haven't had any problems yet but a back brace would not be a bad idea. Maybe make a bracket that will go from the radio to the center dashpad bolt. That is what I will probably do.

Yes I dont have a dash pad, but I will get one. Itcame with a back brace, so Im gona put it on.

My volvo kit came with the part to connect it to the factory back brace, it worked perfect. Yours should also have this part?

I just used a piece of metal plumbers tape (the metal strap with lots of holes) and fastened mine to the stock speaker mounting bolt.

Ha, mine came with its own modifed plumbers tape. but Yea ill stick stick a bolt through the dash for now, untill i get a pad.
