67 Med Green (L code) interior questions...

Post by Doug F »

Seat covers for interior code:

L81: L = Medium Green Petticrush Vinyl & Medium Green Leeds Pattern Woven Plastic // 81 = 81A Standard Cab.

Anyone know if this is the same?

From Classic Auto Parts:
BENCH SEAT UPHOLSTERY (DARK GREEN OXEN GRAIN VINYL WITH MED GREEN MADRID VINYL INSERTS)
Years of Application:
1967 72 SPECIAL CUSTOM/F100

Part Number: F62-67130-470
Reference Number: C7TZ-62900-81/4564

Anyone else have this interior and what did you do????

I don't think so. I think the only place you can get the old upholstery is from SMS.

I already contacted them, they don't make seat covers, they just sell the materials. I am afraid to know how much an upholsterer charges! I am going to ask tomorrow.

Thanks for your input, I am far from done shopping around for an upholsterer, and having been a Mustang Judge in the past, I know nobody even thinks about a truck!
I am thinking that I might just get some green cover and call it good for now. Do you remember how much fabric you used? The one fabric is $89/yd and the other is $49/yd, both in stock.

I really wanted the original vinyl in mine but it was going to be too much money for the material and too much time. I went ahead and got black vinyl. It looks good with the black dashpad and black steering wheel but it is not original (parchment vinyl with parchment airweave.)

Check both LMC and NPD.....they both have Parchment replacement covers and they both show one Green..... No Pics of either color, but they advertise it in the $200 range. You can put it on yourself, but I would recommend someone that knows how to rebuild broken springs, repair the foam padding, etc. Good Luck!

Thanks MotorDog,

I have restored a few vehicles in the past and have learned the whole rebuilding and replacing padding part, but sewing a cover I won't even attempt!
SMS is sending a pic of the layout too, so I will post that when I get it.
